The It’s-All-Your-Fault Tax to “fight climate change” and “save the planet”

IMG_8144-2

Carbon tax, carbon price, carbon levy, cap-and-trade, revenue-neutral or not—call it what you will, it is definitely a tax that everyone will pay, one way or another. It’s a You-Are-Guilty-Of-Causing-Manmade-Global-Warming/Manmade-Climate-Change Tax, levied on the carbon dioxide produced by living your life.

Let me list a few of the ways in which it’s all your fault:

  • The It’s-Your-Fault-That-You-Need-To-Stay-Warm-In-Winter-To-Avoid-Freezing-To-Death Tax
  • The It’s-Your-Fault-That-You-Have-To-Drive-For/To-Work-So-You-Can-Earn-A-Living Tax
  • The It’s-Your-Fault-That-You-Choose-To-Cook-Dinner-For-Your-Kids Tax
  • The It’s-Your-Fault-That-You-Make-The-Stuff-That-People-Need-To-Live Tax
  • The It’s-Your-Fault-That-You-Want-To-Wear-Clothes-And-Live-With-Dignity Tax
  • The It’s-Your-Fault-That-You-Don’t-Fancy-Poisoning-Yourself-With-Unrefrigerated-Food Tax
  • The It’s-Your-Fault-That-You-Farm-Crops-And-Raise-Animals-That-Feed-The-People Tax
  • The It’s-Your-Fault-That-You-Need-A-Roof-Over-Your-Head Tax
  • The It’s-Your-Fault-That-You-Want-To-Cross-The-Atlantic-Or-Pacific-Without-Having-To-Swim Tax

And so on, and so on . . . whatever you do, whatever you need is toxic to the Earth, and must be stopped, they say. This political, not scientific, dangerous UN objective, was openly, baldly stated by Marxist and Canadian Maurice Strong, then UN Secretary General of the Earth Summit, at the Rio UN Earth Summit in 1992:

It is clear that current lifestyles and consumption patterns of the affluent middle class— involving high meat intake, consumption of large amounts frozen and convenience foods, use of fossil fuels, appliances, home and work place air-conditioning, and suburban housing — are not sustainable.

For “not sustainable,” read “must be eliminated.”  This is just one of the many people-control goals contained in Agenda 21, The United Nations Programme of Action, a non-binding, voluntary sustainable development action plan, agreed to by Canada and 178 other nations in 1992. It has been openly, but quietly, stealthily implemented bit by bit ever since—”globally, nationally and locally by organizations of the United Nations System, Governments, and Major Groups in every area in which human impacts on the environment.” A carbon tax is one of many thousands of steps in this insidious, anti-democratic, anti-human process.

Proponents (in Canada it’s the Prime Minister, the premiers of the provinces, except Brad Wall of Saskatchewan, et alia) of the extortionist carbon tax/price/levy see it as a combo behaviour-modification-and-revenue tool, designed to coerce you into making changes to your supposedly climate-catastrophe-causing habits, force you to pay for your alleged earth-harming ways. They aim to politically-correct you to be socially-just by drastically reducing your standard of living and surrendering your cash. They say they will use the proceeds to “tackle climate change,” “fight climate change,” and  “save the planet” from what, in reality, is a non-existent problem. Aren’t these ridiculous, hubristic, unrealistic goals, when you really think about it? Boondoggle, anyone?

The extortionist carbon tax/price/levy is seen as a combo behaviour-modification-and-revenue tool.

For the eco-self-righteous elite and the ignorant, venal or delusional politicians, inflicting a social justice penalty and punishment tax will teach you a moralistic lesson in original sin (that of your supposedly toxic ”carbon” footprint, caused by your very existence).

A sin-punishing, kleptocratic tax on thin air . . .

The fake rationale for a sin-punishing, kleptocratic tax on thin air is the biggest scientific deception ever perpetrated, namely that manmade CO2 (carbon dioxide) supposedly causes catastrophic manmade global warming and apocalyptic manmade climate change. Human CO2 “emissions,” invisible, odourless, non-polluting though they are (but the eco-poseurs will never say that), need to be curbed or everyone burns up in a super-heated hell on Earth. But consider the following;

  • There has been no global warming for nearly 19 years, during which time CO2 concentrations rose by 10%, therefore rendering the cause-and-effect grounds for carbon taxing/pricing/levying scientifically invalid.
  • The UN’s climate computer model predictions of climate doom-and-devastation have all failed to match real-world empirical evidence.
  • Climate changes naturally all the time, always has, always will.

In short, there is no global climate emergency at all (as Dr. Tim Ball likes to say, it only exists inside the UN IPCC’s (rigged—my word) computer climate models), and, in fact, CO2 is a life-giving, miracle trace gas enabling mankind’s survival.

A carbon tax/price/levy is a pernicious, avaricious, dishonest tax on the carbon dioxide produced by mankind’s activities. Eco-crooks try to make you believe that huge amounts of it are being spewed everywhere. In fact, CO2 is a trace gas comprising a tiny 0.04% of the atmosphere. It is something you exhale. It’s not a pollutant. It’s plant food, vital to life on earth, without which we would not even be here to discuss the carbon tax lunacy.

The end game is . . . UN Agenda 21 . . . communitarian global governance by fiat.

Undeterred by the facts and basic science, the ENGO eco-zealots, self-serving politicians at every level and of every stripe, the unthinking educators, the MSM collaborators, the carbon-propagandist celebs, the co-opted scientists, the UN climate potentates, the woefully uninformed journalists, the corporate appeasers, et alia earnestly discuss the finer points of (unnecessary, ought to be illegal) carbon pricing and procedures, when in fact the whole thing is one gigantic, evil, corrupt charade. The end game is money, power, control, UN Agenda 21, forced wealth transfer, de-population, anti-prosperity, anti-nationalism, totalitarianism, communitarian global governance by fiat.

High time to fight back.

How Thin Air came to be bought, sold, traded, and taxed

IMG_1194

Once upon a time there was a Liberal Premier who, having unaccountably been given an undeserved gift of majority rule, presided over the most populous province in the fair land of Canada. She seemed to care about nothing except virtue-signaling her lonely country jogging and spreading her social-license, social-justice, planet-saving pretensions to realms beyond.

She heeded her nakedly bullying enviro-grifters who told her that “The Science” Oracle had spoken.

She ignored the cries of the rural folk forced to submit to the subsidy-dependent, fake-green wind carbon-baggers who had her permission to impale the beautiful farm fields and meadows with useless, dangerous, bird-slaughtering, human-health destroying giant windmills. Instead, she heeded her unelected, unaccountable, foreign-funded, phony eco-courtiers—nakedly bullying enviro-grifters who told her that “The Science” Oracle had spoken: it was time to impose a pernicious, dishonest tax scheme on the financially beleaguered people. This would enrich the Treasury and continue to pay for Liberal Boondoggles, past and present and future.

…exhalations and emissions you could not see or smell had henceforth to be bought, sold, traded, and taxed.

And so she decreed that Thin Air, exhalations and emissions you could not see or smell, that harmlessly provided vital nourishment for plants and thus kept everything and everyone on Earth alive, had henceforth to be bought, sold, traded, and taxed. Anyone challenging this absurd, corruption-rife lunacy was deemed to be hopelessly in denial, blind, a head-in-the-sand-sticker, and accused of being in lavish pay of fossil fuel providers (if only).

They played along, fearful of being judged unfit for their positions or, worse, having to go straight to SuzukiJail for eco-heresy.

Many Smart People (politicians, professors, publishers, pundits, PR professionals, petroleum producers, public servants) could not see how Thin Air was harming anything at all. The deliberately false predictions of Manmade Doom-And-Gloom Climate Change, supposedly caused by manmade excess Thin Air, had never materialized, of course. But the Smart People said nothing and did nothing. They played along, fearful of being judged unfit for their positions or, worse, having to go straight to SuzukiJail for eco-heresy.

Others, the SmartAndHonest People, tried to tell the populace that putting a price on Thin Air was an absurd, ought-to-be-illegal fraud, and nothing more than a blatant tax grab, fake-justified by a non-existent climate problem. But most of them had no influence over the government’s powerful propaganda juggernaut, the mainstream media, and had to resort to ingenuity and disruptive new ways in order to be heard and seen.

Slowly, the truth about the Big Climate Fraud started to seep out.

Some of the Regular People rejected the state propaganda and made an effort to find the SmartAndHonest People in the Internet news sites and blogs and honest, evidence-based science websites in order to get at facts and the truth. And in the face of ridicule, condemnation, and abuse they did their best to tell their families, neighbours, and social media friends. Slowly, the truth about the Big Climate Fraud started to seep out. But what to do about it?  Was there still time to put and end to the madness, if only for the sake of the children and grandchildren—and if so, how?

For now, this dark tale must end here, the rest to be told as surely as the climate has changed and will change naturally throughout the ages.

Climate nonsense and sanctimony from Ontario’s Environmental Commissioner

IMG_2896

The new Environmental Commissioner of Ontario, Dianne Saxe, celebrates and looks forward to punishing you (she Orwellian-newspeaks it as “give a financial incentive to people”!) with the Ontario Liberals’ planned cap-and-trade carbon tax scheme for the greenhouse gas “pollution” that you “create”:

Hallelujah! It’s really about time. Again, the entire world recognizes that we need to put a price on carbon if we want to give a financial incentive to people to reduce the pollution that they create, the greenhouse gas pollution that they create. We have to put a price on it. If it’s free, if doing the wrong thing is free, and the right thing [is] expensive, the people are more likely to do the wrong thing.

Earlier in her interview with Steve Paikin on TVO’s The Agenda, Saxe was asked what had been the highlight of COP21, the UN’s mega climate conference that she attended in Paris last December. She said:

The highlight was reaching the agreement. That was an extraordinary achievement…it was an incredible achievement…in terms of a real tipping point for both national governments, and sub-nationals and non-state actors around the world. It was astonishing!

Of course, we all know it was a total non-agreement, but one that nonetheless will be used by the powers that be to rationalize imposing further coercive, extortionist measures to “save the planet.”

When Paikin asked Saxe what were some of the “neat ideas” that came out of the conference, she replied:

Portfolio decarbonization initiative, which is the recognition by big money managers around the world that ignoring the risk of carbon is now impermissible because there are physical risks, there are liability risks, there are stranded asset risks, and there are reputational risks which are now a necessary part of fiduciary duty of any money manager in the world.

Insanity! It’s a UN-led initiative, of course. Bear in mind, that “carbon” is carbon dioxide, i.e. plant food. So, money managers are supposed to advise clients to divest themselves of any stocks associated with the production of a harmless trace gas, without which there would be no life on earth.

Of course, no TVO discussion about the climate would be complete without the usual scaremongering idiocy about how we are all climate-doomed. Saxe obliged:

The most frightening thing in Paris was learning about the science. I thought that I was pretty up-to-date with how bad things are and how fast things are moving when in fact things are much worse than I thought.

And one of the biggest factors is that in this entire process of planning ahead of how bad it’s going to be, we have left out one of the biggest sources of carbon in the world, which is the melting of the permafrost. So the challenge is even bigger than we knew, the urgency is greater.

But climate changes naturally all the time. And there has been no global warming for almost 19 years now. So if the permafrost is melting, it ain’t your fault. There are other reasons for it, such as natural climate phenomena and fluctuations.

And please, don’t neglect to mention recent weather events as being proof of manmade climate change! Saxe had a good one:

It probably helps that right in the middle of the conference there were $5 billion worth of floods around the world, $4 billion alone in India, the huge flood in northern England…it seized people’s attention.

“Helps”? That’s a rather cruel, callous, opportunistic view of what the poor Brits endured, losing their possessions and homes on their water-logged Boxing Day. Actually, the floods in northern England were caused not by manmade climate change but by government negligence, mandated by the EU directives (based on misbegotten UN-driven “climate change” ideology) to stop the traditional flood-control dredging of rivers. But don’t let facts get in the way of a sensational phony narrative.

And, of course, don’t forget to wring your hands over the grandchildren—again! Saxe made sure they got the usual warmist’s shout-out:

In 1992 when I went to the Rio conference we thought we were talking about a problem that would matter to our grandchildren. In 2015 we realized it’s a problem for us all right now, and moving fast.

Ontario’s Environmental Commissioner checked the usual boxes in the “climate change” catechism:

  • the evils (imaginary) of greenhouse gas “pollution”
  • it’s your fault, and you must be punished and pay
  • put a “price” on “carbon,” i.e. tax you, and then tax you again
  • decarbonization of everything, i.e. stop economic growth
  • believe “the science,” but only if it’s UN-authorized
  • weather is proof of manmade “climate change”: heavy rain causing floods, etc
  • urgency (because “the science” is supposedly beyond debate and settled)
  • think of the poor little grandchildren, i.e. emotional blackmail

Ontario’s Environmental Commissioner is obviously a devoted believer in the church of manmade global warming. (She has to be—it’s the second mandate listed on her job description.) So, Dianne Saxe will have to help the Liberal government that appointed her force Wynne-beleaguered Ontarians to do the wrong “right thing.”

Industrial wind turbines: the scourge of Ontario’s economy, farmland, and people

2X0V6011

People living in the Ontario’s large urban centres may not realize to what extent the Liberals, by means of undemocratic fiat, have imposed massive, invasive industrialization on rural Ontario. In many cases it has happened against the will of communities and people.

The Liberals’ Green Energy Act and its companion, the Environmental Review Tribunal—a toothless kangaroo court for any person or organization NOT a wind energy proponent—rob municipalities and property owners of their rights and any fair chance to prevent wind companies, mostly foreign-owned, from riding roughshod over their land and property values, wildlife and environmental protections, and human and livestock health concerns, never mind from visually polluting and despoiling the natural beauty of the Ontario landscape.

To make matters worse, none of the Liberals’ totalitarian-like “green” “renewable” energy push has made any economic sense, as was again confirmed by the Auditor General of Ontario Annual Report 2015, and in fact would appear to be willful appropriation and squandering of taxpayer money and the deliberate imposition of astronomical electricity costs to consumers and business:

Expensive wind and solar energy—We calculate that electricity consumers have had to pay $9.2 billion…more for renewables over the 20-year contract terms under the Ministry’s current guaranteed-price renewable program than they would have paid under the previous program…We found that the prices under Ontario’s guaranteed-price renewable program were…double the market price for wind and three and a half times the market price for solar energy in 2014.

Watch this video—industrial wind turbines in southwestern Ontario, near Shelburne—and weep.

Wynne’s obeisance to the U.N.’s “climate change” queen

x If ever you wanted additional proof that Ontario’s Premier Kathleen Wynne is a faithful, loyal follower of the U.N.’s bid for global governance, enforced wealth redistribution, de-industrialization, and de-population (all of it aka Agenda 21) by means of a deliberately-fabricated planetary climate emergency, look no further than her tweet today (see above).

  • Why was Figueres, an unelected, unaccountable U.N. kommissar, invited to stick her nose into the domestic and sovereign affairs of Canada and Ontario?

In her tweet, she proudly announces meeting with Christiana Figueres, the U.N.’s “climate change” queen, who presumably gave the premier a pat on the head (much like manmade-climate-change-huckster Al Gore did last November) for her latest catastrophic fake-eco move to impose a pernicious “carbon” cap-and-trade scheme on Ontario, which is supposed to somehow dial down the (nonexistent) manmade climate change that is not happening despite the alarmists’ best efforts to have us see what plainly isn’t there. The tweet contains no less than three photos of Wynne posing with the U.N. apparatchik.

So why was Figueres, an unelected, unaccountable U.N. kommissar, invited to stick her nose into the domestic and sovereign affairs of Canada and Ontario anyway? (Not only that, but she was also given a free platform in the National Post to spout her malignant propaganda.)

So there they are, Wynne and Figueres, sitting at the table for their photo op, all smiley-smiley, with Wynne presumably re-pledging fealty to the U.N. climate orthodoxy. The flags of Canada, Ontario, and the U.N. stand guard in a neat row behind them to lend an air of credible dominion to the whole thing.

There’s a direct line of dots connecting the deliberate lies of the U.N.’s Christiana Figueres about “emissions” causing global warming, to the disastrous Wynne-McGuinty phoney-green policies, to the suffering of the people in rural Ontario, victims of the economically useless, environmentally destructive industrial wind turbines, and ending in the economic decline of Ontario and the exploitative taxation and impoverishment of the people.

The real play is not about a better, cleaner environment, but rather about a concerted bid for global governance and control, and in the process destroying democracy, sovereignty, industry, progress, and personal freedom of choice.

Social unrest due to industrial wind turbines: “A shocking snapshot of how serious it is”

IMG_4230

We have a crisis, folks, all around London, and it’s getting almost no attention by the politicians, and quite frankly, by the media. (Andy Oudman, CJBK London)

As the skeptics all too painfully know, most of the mainstream media, including public broadcasters like the CBC and TVO, seem to be acting as enthusiastic trumpet blowers for every dire prognostication of doom and gloom made by the UN’s dishonest, disgraceful IPCC on the subject of man-made global warming/climate change.

Climate change as a planetary emergency has been the rationale for the deployment of useless and highly destructive “green” energy alternatives, such as industrial wind turbines. The media have been playing a crucial role in maintaining the fiction, spreading misinformation, giving only one side of the story, essentially propagandizing, and failing to dig deep with journalistic integrity to uncover the big picture.

Rarely will you see or hear learned, educated skeptics, of which there are plenty, invited as guests on any radio or television programs to present their views on the subject of man-made global warming, climate change, industrial wind turbines, or Ontario’s green energy fiasco. A few of the media are the exception proving the rule: the National Post, Financial Post, and Goldhawk Fights Back come to mind as having addressed some of these topics in a non-biased manner.

Today was a great day. A London, Ontario radio station, CJBK, on its program London Today With Andy Oudman, spent most of the morning interviewing people about the ominous social unrest in Southern Ontario caused by the massive proliferation of industrial wind turbine projects. These factories cover huge swaths of prime farmland. The invasion of the towering machines has been aided and abetted by the democracy-robbing Green Energy Act and the heartless see-hear-speak-no-evil attitude of the Ontario Liberal government. The people who live there and who have had to suffer the devastating social and personal consequences, with more to come, have struggled to make their voices heard.

It’s compelling listening:

Voices from the Thedford Bog (Part 3): “It’s just shocking! The Liberal government is destroying Ontario!”

IMG_4229

I can’t see it not affecting tourism. It’s going to affect the residents, it’s going to affect the businesses. I know I don’t want to be in this community anymore, and I just dread what it’s going to look like.

Most people in Ontario’s urban centres, or even those living in small towns, or rural settings where there are no industrial wind turbines, probably have no idea. They may never have heard the stories of rural residents who are having to cope, through no choice of their own, with life in the midst of an industrial wind plant forced on their community, one that has ruined their rural way of life, that has disrupted their communities, livelihoods, health, wildlife, and their environment.

The suffering and sacrifice might at least mean something if there were any common good to be found in the Ontario Liberal government’s deployment of industrial wind turbines invading the landscape, but such is demonstrably not the case, in fact, quite the opposite. The industrial wind turbines are utterly useless, and extremely destructive. The people, communities, wildlife, the environment and the economy are being severely damaged, and yet the government is tone deaf, dumb and wilfully blind. It continues to use the punishing Green Energy Act, and the toothless Environmental Review Tribunal to ram its fatally-flawed, fake-green alternative energy program down the throats of the people of Ontario.

*Most of the mainstream media are blinded by the UN’s IPCC/Al Gore/David Suzuki-driven fake-green, phoney-planetary-emergency-of-climate change agenda (the rationale for industrial wind turbines), or even shamelessly act as chief propagandists for it, our national broadcaster CBC included. In Ontario, they are missing the unfolding real, big-picture tragedy, of which the gas plant scandal is just one part of a much more massive and costlier catastrophe.

The Ontario Liberals have handed out lucrative permits giving wind companies unprecedented rights to industrialize vast swaths of the Ontario countryside in the absence of any cost benefit analysis or human health studies, and with environmental assessments and turbine-caused bird and bat death monitoring conducted by the wind companies themselves. Ontario now has the most expensive electricity costs in North America, while it is at the same time giving away or selling excess power at a loss.

How much longer are Ontarians going to endure this utterly insane, socially and financially ruinous situation?

Muriel Blair lives in the area of Middlesex-Lambton counties and joined industrial wind turbine protesters at the Thedford Bog near Grand Bend, Lake Huron, on Sunday, April 6, 2014:

I’m concerned about the health issues with the cumulative effect of the hundreds of wind turbines. It is going to be pretty substantial for the residents of my community. We’re going to be surrounded by a NextEra project, a couple of Suncor projects, and a couple more NextEra projects going towards the lake. So this whole community is going to be one huge wind turbine, industrial area.

And I’m also concerned about the wildlife. Currently there is an eagle’s nest that is active in the Bornish wind project. It is now a little over 800 metres from the substation that they’ve built, and the MInistry of the Environment has been monitoring it and they have confirmed that the eagles have nested in it. But what they’re planning on doing is running transmission lines into the protected area of the eagle. So that is definitely going to affect the eagle.

But I also worry…I mean, this beautiful area here, where we have this fantastic migration area for these swans…I don’t know…these swans are not going to be coming back, they are not going to be coming back. There are going to be too many wind turbines. So it’s a big concern.

And can you imagine how tourists are going to want to come and spend their money and their time here when it’s surrounded by industrial wind turbines?  And even today, early April, late March, this is tourism because the people coming to see the swans are coming from all over. They come from the States, they come from Toronto. You know, they flock here. And do they spend their money here? Yes! I don’t think this is going to be here when the wind turbines are up and operating.

It’s just shocking, is just shocking. The Liberal government is destroying rural Ontario! Not to mention our Hydro. Our Hydro system is just going down the tubes, when residents are paying 45% more for their Hydro, thanks to the Green Energy Act. And the subsidies that are being paid to these multinational corporations that aren’t even Canadian! It’s crazy! I think that the sooner we get rid of the Liberal government, the better.

They want the residents of rural Ontario to be shipped into the cities and the farms taken over by corporations, and the corporations do the farming. Then they can put all the industry they want next to the farms and they don’t have to worry about people. And everybody is in an urban centre. I really believe that’s what their long-term goal is. Because there’s so much to offer out here and I don’t think they’re going to stop at the wind turbines. I think once they have control of that land they are going to start frakking. Because they’re already talking about natural gas prices going up and how they are running out of natural gas because we have had such a cold winter. So I really believe that is the next thing that rural Ontario is going to see.

*Donna Laframboise on the subject of the mainstream media (emphasis added):

If history is anything to judge by, mainstream media reports will overflow with misinformation written by two kinds of people: reporters relatively new to the topic who don’t have the first clue how the IPCC actually functions – or ‘environmental journalists’ who are fundamentally confused about what their job is.

A journalist’s first loyalty is supposed to be the public interest. Ensuring that the public is informed about the shortcomings and limitations of powerful organizations is what journalists are supposed to do. Instead, we’re now plagued by “environment correspondents” who think their primary purpose is saving the planet.

Those people have long parroted the IPCC’s rose-coloured view of itself. They haven’t conducted the most basic fact-checking. They haven’t asked the most rudimentary questions. As Australian writer Joanne Nova is fond of saying, the opposite of skeptical is gullible and the world now has no shortage of that kind of journalist.

Voices from the Thedford Bog (Part 2): Wind factories “destroying the fabric of our communities, a huge public safety problem”

IMG_8101_2

I see a lot of people waking up to just how destructive this is to their communities and livelihood, and they’re starting to connect the dots between companies and the government and the way that we were hoodwinked into this, basically.

Protesters gathered at Thedford Bog near Grand Bend, Lake Huron, on Sunday, April 6, 2014, to decry plans to build a phalanx of industrial wind turbines in what is a designated Important Bird Area, and where every March some 10-15,000 tundra swans stop to rest and feed before continuing on their migration to the western Arctic.

Social worker Patti Kellar joined the protest and talked about the enormous social ills inflicted on the people and communities that have had industrial wind turbines forced upon them:

It’s horrendous! Communities are divided, families are divided, people aren’t speaking to one another. It’s – in terms of property and inheritance and the destruction of farmland – the complete and utter split.

Just days later, the Ontario Liberal government approved a new wind factory in nearby Lambton Shores – 92 industrial wind turbines to be added to the thousands already blighting the eastern edge of Lake Huron. More pending projects, including the one planned around the Thedford Bog, are sure to receive approval, given that the Green Energy Act, and the regulations and exemptions that go with it, are stacked heavily in favour of the wind proponents.

Tremendous social cost, unrest – really, really destroying the fabric of our community … in rural Ontario the very fabric of our communities is being destroyed. It’s quite sad.

And the people who are struggling so hard to bring awareness to everyone are being targeted and bullied and threatened, and legal action is being taken against them, and it’s just heartbreaking. And they keep fighting on, we just keep going.

I see effects on everybody – friendships, family, people who have businesses in the area who have opinions but are afraid to voice them, are afraid to be boycotted. People may want more information and not feel comfortable getting it.

There’s a huge public safety problem here and we really feel strongly that, in the bigger picture, there needs to be an infrastructure in place where the police and authorities have done due diligence and have a template in place to help people deal with this sort of thing, because we are not the only community with this amount of unrest. It’s happening all over Southwestern Ontario and it’s almost criminal in nature, I’m feeling.

Voices from the Thedford Bog: Wind turbines are “a social experiment, a mess, a failure”

IMG_4200

Protesters joined the remaining migrating tundra swans at the Thedford Bog near Grand Bend, Lake Huron, on Sunday, April 6, 2014, to condemn plans to build a bristling barrier of industrial wind turbines in what is a designated Important Bird Area. Every March some 10-15,000 tundra swans stop at the Thedford Bog and environs to rest and feed before continuing on their migration to the western Arctic.

Waterfowl scientist Dr. Scott Petrie told CBC News in 2012:

By putting the turbines in inappropriate places, it actually is tantamount to habitat loss. You wouldn’t put an office tower next to a coastal wetland, why would you put a wind turbine there?

Monte McNaughton, Progressive Conservative Member of the Provincial Parliament of Ontario (MPP) for Lambton-Kent-Middlesex, reminded the protesters that his party’s leader, Tim Hudak, has promised, if elected, to repeal the Green Energy Act, the draconian legislation that has given unprecedented rights to industrial wind turbines over people, communities and wildlife. The Green Energy Act was enacted in 2009 in part as a response to the fake planetary emergency of man-made global warming/climate change.

The Dalton McGuinty and Kathleen Wynne Liberal governments have allowed the Ontario landscape to be despoiled and blighted by thousands of useless industrial wind turbines. The machines, towering as high as 50-storey buildings, built on a foundation that requires 800 tons of concrete each that will remain in the ground of prime farmland forever, have been erected in the absence of any cost-benefit analysis or human health studies, and accorded special rights by the Liberal government with its elimination of environmental restrictions inconvenient to wind companies.

Premier Kathleen Wynne has promised to build thousands more of the extortionate-to-taxpayers, destructive, un-green industrial monstrosities.

Bitter, cold (Part 4): Politicians make promises to keep

Still 1

A group of politicians, MPPs from the Official Opposition, emerged from the Ontario Legislative Building at Queen’s Park on February 24 to address the protesters who were outside in the bitter cold demonstrating against the Liberal government’s massive proliferation of useless industrial wind factories in the Ontario landscape.

The Progressive Conservative MPPs made promises: “The failed industrial wind turbine experiment is going to come to an end.”

They should also have declared that the outsize, toxic, and undemocratic influence on government policy wielded by unelected, unaccountable extreme-“green”, activist NGOs whose rationale for their demands, namely a phoney planetary emergency based on the hoax of man-made global warmingwhich led to the poisonous Green Energy Act and its thousands of destructive industrial wind turbines, must end!

In the video below, Lisa Thompson, MPP (Huron-Bruce), Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario, Critic-Green Energy Act, told the protesters not to give up:

This week the country has come to the city. Most importantly, you’re not giving up. We can’t stop. We understand that the crazy subsidies that have been awarded to wind and solar are bankrupting all of us.

My question today specifically to the Premier was, for goodness sakes, admit to your corporate corruption mistakes. And I outlined to her that they’ve turned their back on their very own $1.5 million health study facilitated by the University of Waterloo. They take to court municipalities who are standing up for you guys. Wind companies who break the rules conveniently see the government turn their back to those rules that are broken. And last but not least, to add more insult to injury, is what happened last week: surprise, surprise the government appeals itself and the ERT ruling on the Blanding’s turtle was found to have errors in it. I ask you not to stop!

Lisa McLeod, MPP (Nepean-Carleton), Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario, Critic-Energy, vowed to fight for “locally-based decision-making”:

Disastrous Green Energy Act policy…In my community of Ottawa, I have the beautiful village of North Gore. North Gore today is going to be under assault by wind turbines because our Minister of Energy who has the riding next door to mine will not allow the people I represent to have a say on the land that they live on. And I can tell you that I will continue to fight on behalf of all of you in order to ensure locally-based decision-making.

In the video below, Tim Hudak, MPP (Niagara West-Glanbrook), Leader of the Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario, Leader of the Official Opposition promised to end “the failed industrial wind turbine experiment” if elected:

It’s not just us that get this. There are people right across Ontario that say this policy is bankrupt, that it has taken our province into the red, that it is dividing communities right down the middle, that it has no purpose.

We just raised this in Question Period today and we made it absolutely clear, as I’ve done time and time again: under a PC government the failed industrial wind turbine experiment is going to come to an end

And I believe people should make local decisions. And in West Lincoln they put in five industrial turbines and four actually break the government’s own laws. I just raised this with Kathleen Wynne. Doesn’t it make sense that when you broke the law on a setback, you’d have to fix it? If they don’t fit the law, pull ’em out!

I don’t know what the NDP think is acceptable – putting 500 feet tall wind turbines in people’s backyards? We’ve got to get energy costs under control…stop industrial wind turbines.

I know what you’re going through. I’ve seen what is happening to communities across the province. It is going to come to an end under a PC government, let me be perfectly clear about that. The forced industrial wind turbines in our province, they are going to come to an end. It’s a matter of time. We’ll give you your say back, folks.

Rick Nicholls, MPP (Chatham-Kent-Essex), Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario:

I’ll go on record saying that Chatham-Kent is not a willing host but you have to convince our council about that. Five hundred turbines are there right now and they continue to put them up there, much to my chagrin. We know the effects they have on health, autistic children with schools nearby, property devaluation, energy costs. I’m fighting for eight wind turbines to be taken down around the Chatham airport and that will be a precedent-setting experience.

Bob Bailey, MPP (Sarnia-Lambton), Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario, Critic-Natural Resources:

We’ve got two great groups down there that are fighting wind turbines, Plympton-Wyoming taking a strong stance and also Enniskillen Township – I wish we’d had that kind of leadership a few years ago, maybe we wouldn’t have got this far along.

Laurie Scott, MPP (Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes-Brock), Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario, Critic-Tourism & Culture:

I want to thank you for loading buses yet again, coming down in the cold, protesting again. You have to keep it up, we’re there with you. We had lots of questions in the Legislature today and the usual happened – you didn’t get any answers. Mine specifically was how could you turn your back on the Oak Ridges Moraine protection? Keep fighting, I know it’s cold. But stamp your feet and yell a lot!
